Paralyzed from the waist down after suffering a bout of polio, Roosevelt overcame his disability and was elected president of the United States an unprecedented four times.
FDR was a world-class collector famous for his stamps, ship models, naval art and books. But in the archives of the FDR Presidential Library and Museum there is a remarkable collection that FDR spent a lifetime acquiring. FDR called it his “Naval Manuscript Collection” but that does not do it justice.
