Detective Eric Matthews is a fictional character from the Saw franchise.Portrayed by Donnie Wahlberg, he first appeared in a mockumentary entitled Full Disclosure Report: Piecing Together Jigsaw, featured on the uncut version of the original film.He subsequently appeared as the protagonist of Saw II (2005), and had a minor role in Saw III (2006), and again a major role in Saw IV (2007).

I love Eric. He's a flawed guy but he has a good heart it seems, or at least was trying to be a good father. I wish we got the death scene of him in Saw 3, that's my biggest "i wish" for Saw perhaps. But, damn he suffered a lot. Held captive for months and attempted suicide like twice when moving from the ice block, just wanted to save his son.
