My father joined the Marines and went to bootcamp within 1-2 years of when the film was based and he said it was the most accurate portrayal he had ever seen. In some cases the real life boot camp was worse, instructors at that time could be very violent and physically assault recruits for screwing up. Reply. bear_fists.
