Tin Machine II followed in 1991, but lacking the novelty and the attendant media coverage of its predecessor, the record failed to generate much excitement; the live Oy Vey, Baby appeared later that same year, but when Bowie resumed his solo career with 1993's Black Tie White Noise, the band quietly ceased to exist. ~ Jason Ankeny

Tin Machine was een band die bestond uit David Bowie, gitarist Reeves Gabrels, bassist Tony Sales en drummer Hunt Sales.De band was actief tussen 1988 en 1992 en werd uiteindelijk geen commercieel succes. De band ontstond als een reactie van Bowie op de tegenvallende kritieken op het album Never Let Me Down en zijn wens om weer muziek te maken voor zichzelf en niet voor de massa.
Tin Machine is the debut studio album by the Anglo-American hard rock band Tin Machine, released on 22 May 1989 through EMI America Records.The band consisted of the English singer-songwriter David Bowie, the American guitarist Reeves Gabrels and brothers Tony Fox and Hunt Sales on bass and drums, respectively, while Englishman Kevin Armstrong acted as an additional guitarist.
