Vivere revolves around the Attorre family, who live in a decent suburb in a terraced house. Luca (Giannini), a freelance journalist and packager of coloured items, barely makes a living in the newspapers, while Susi (Ramazzotti), a dancer, has been reduced to teaching overweight ladies, and Lucilla, their six-year-old daughter, is quiet and imaginative but suffers from asthma.
