31 de may. de 2017 · The GTO continued into 2006 with minor changes, but with the end of Monaro production in Australia, this also marked the end of the Pontiac GTO's three-year revival. In 2009, General Motors decided to shut down the Pontiac brand as a result of the economic recession — and this meant there would never be another GTO produced.

The 389 V8 produced 325 horsepower, and the package added a dual exhaust, a four-barrel carburetor, a three-speed manual with a Hurst shifter and an upgraded suspension. Pontiac fit wider wheels and gave the car exclusive GTO badging.

The ’74 GTO was packing only 200 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque, down from the 230-hp 400 and 250-hp 455 offered in 1973—making it the least powerful GTO.
