Caroline Lucretia Herschel (Hanôver, 16 de março de 1750 — Hanôver, 9 de janeiro de 1848) foi uma astrônoma germano-britânica. Nasceu em uma família de músicos alemães. Em 1772 se mudou para a Inglaterra para ficar com seu irmão, o astrônomo William Herschel.

She did important work assisting her brother Sir William Herschel, a groundbreaking astronomer who discovered Uranus amongst other achievements.
3 de jun. de 2017 · Caroline Herschel discovered new nebulae in 1783: Andromeda and Cetus and later that year, 14 more nebulae. With a new telescope, a gift from her brother, she then discovered a comet, making her the first woman known to have done so. She went on to discover seven more comets.
