Il est l'auteur de la Chronique du tueur de roi , qui fut repoussée par plusieurs maisons d'éditions avant que le premier tome, Le Nom du vent , ne soit publié en 2007 puis salué par la critique et fasse partie de la New York Times Best Seller list [ 1 ] .

Since Patrick Rothfuss wrote the entire trilogy before the first book was published (the time spent between releases have been on edits), such early foreshadowing is a definite possibility. Though it has only been out since April 2007, it has already been sold in 26 foreign countries and won several awards.
