Quizás este sistema encuentra hoy en día uno de sus máximos exponentes los buscadores de Internet como Google , que hoy le reconoce el mérito a Boole con un doodle que conmemora el 200 aniversario de su nacimiento.
George Boole nació el 2 de noviembre de 1815 en Lincoln, Lincolnshire. Hijo de Mary Ann Joyce y John Boole, zapatero. Tuvo tres hermanos. Autodidacta, aprendió por su cuenta Latín y Griego. A los doce años ya era un experto en Latín. Tradujo una oda de Horacio.

George Boole was the son of John Boole, a cobbler whose chief interests lay in mathematics and the making of optical instruments, in which his son learned to assist at an early age.
