Thomas Nagel (Belgrado, 4 juli 1937) is een Amerikaans filosoof. Hij is hoogleraar rechten en filosofie aan de New York University. Zijn publicaties gaan vooral over de filosofie van de geest, politieke filosofie en de ethiek. Nagel is ook betrokken bij de redactie van de Encyclopædia Britannica.
Nagel, che ha acquisito la cittadinanza statunitense nel 1944, è professore di Filosofia e Diritto alla Università di New York, dove insegna dal 1980. Si è occupato in particolare di filosofia della mente e di filosofia morale. Nel 2008, ha ricevuto il Premio Rolf Schock, il Premio Balzan ed il Dottorato Onorario dall' Università di Oxford .
