Maj Sjöwall y Per Wahlöö fueron una pareja sentimental de periodistas y escritores suecos creadores entre 1965 y 1975 de la serie de novelas sobre el inspector Martin Beck, que renovaron el género en los países nórdicos y fueron el referente principal para las posteriores generaciones de escritores suecos de novela negra como Henning Mankell, Camilla Läckberg, Kjell Eriksson o Åsa Larsson.
