William David Ormsby-Gore, 5th Baron Harlech KCMG PC DL (20 May 1918 – 26 January 1985), known as David Ormsby-Gore until June 1961 and as Sir David Ormsby-Gore from then until February 1964, was a British diplomat and Conservative politician. From 1950 until 1961, he was a member of the Member of Parliament. He died in a car crash in 1985.

David Ormsby-Gore was born in London on 20 May 1918, the second son of William George Arthur Ormsby-Gore (1885-1964), fourth Baron Harlech, landowner and politician, and his wife Lady Beatrice Edith Mildred (née Gascoigne-Cecil, 1891-1980), a daughter of the fourth Marquess of Salisbury. Francis was the grandson of the fourth to hold the title Baron Harlech. But the eldest son of Francis’s uncle was killed in a car accident in the 1930s and the title, along with 8,000 acres of land on two estates in Shropshire and Gwynedd, passed to Francis’s father, after the death of William Ormsby-Gore, 4th Baron Harlech in 1964.
