Richard Bonynge en Pretty Yende. Richard Bonynge CBE (de achternaam uitgesproken als "bonning"), (Sydney, 29 september 1930) is een Australische dirigent en pianist.. Richard Bonynge wurde in Sydney, Australien, geboren und studierte am NSW Conservatory of Music und am Royal College of Music. Er war 1965 Musikdirektor der Sutherland-Williamson Grand Opera Company (Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, Brisbane), von 1974–77 künstlerischer Leiter der Vancouver Opera und von 1976–86 Musikdirektor der Australian Opera.
