  5. 20 de dic. de 2004 · The saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith was a significant and stimulating figure in the fusion of jazz, blues and rock music. He found most acclaim with the late Sixties progressive rock band Colosseum.

  6. Dick Heckstall-Smith was born in Ludlow( September 26 1934), raised in Knighton, Radnorshire, and played piano, clarinet and alto saxophone in childhood. Aged 15, he had taken up the soprano sax at Foxhole, captivated by the sound of Sidney Bechet.

In all of his work, and particularly in the late-'60s band Colosseum, he ventured into the little-explored territory where blues, jazz, and rock meet.
