Marcella Detroit (born Marcella Levy, June 21, 1952 Detroit, Michigan) is a vocalist, guitarist, and songwriter. She was a member of the band Shakespears Sister, along with Siobhan Fahey of Bananarama. Detroit's soprano voice provided lead vocals on their biggest hit, "Stay", which was number one in the UK Singles Chart for eight weeks in 1992.
In 1994 Marcella Detroit’s Jewel was released to great critical acclaim and spawned two hit singles, “I Believe” and “I’m No Angel.” Marcella then decided to showcase her rock credentials with the edgy album Feeler which she released on her own label; the album and particularly the single “Boy” were very well received and enjoyed exceptional success in Japan.
