Herb Pedersen has made major contributions to bluegrass, country, and country-rock music throughout a career at the forefront of American roots music for more than sixty years. An accomplished vocalist, guitarist, and banjo player, Pedersen is a founding member of the Desert Rose Band and was a member of the Dillards from 1969 to 1971.

Herb Pedersen. Soundtrack: Live by Night. Guitarist, banjo player, bluegrass musician, and singer/songwriter Herbert Joseph Pedersen was born on April 27, 1944 in Berkeley, California. Pedersen began his musical career in the early 1960's in his native Berkeley playing 5-string banjo and acoustic guitar for such people as Jerry Garcia, David Grisman, and Butch Waller.
