Although little known by the general public, P.F. Sloan was a behind-the-scenes giant of the 1960s West Coast pop scene and was acknowledged as one of the founding fathers of folk-rock. In partnership with songwriter Steve Barri, Sloan composed now-classic hits for Barry McGuire ("Eve of Destruction"), Johnny Rivers ("Secret Agent Man"), the Turtles ("You Baby"), and scores of others.
