Front 242 is een Belgische band. Hij ontstond in de jaren '80 en maakt elektronische muziek.In hun actiefste periode (tot de albums 06:21:03:11 Up Evil en 05:22:09:12 Off uit 1993) waren ze toonaangevend voor andere industriële en elektronische artiesten, waarbij ze het genre Electronic Body Music (EBM) lanceerden. Ze worden ook beschouwd als de voorlopers van techno en new beat.

Front 242’s vision continues to evolve toward fuller maturity after the acclaimed album « Tyranny For You » (1991). The two next albums, « 06:21:03:11 Up Evil » and « 05:22:09:12 Off » (1993) break through the classical Front formula to bring in new vocalists, live guitars and drums, along with a new producer, Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Sonic Youth).
