Those Country Gentlemen started to record in 1957 in the DC area. All the Singles & EPs 1943 to 1956 are obviously by other bands. [a lot were easy to spot by checking performers' names on discs.] And of the "Unknown" dates, only Starday Records 45-558 is OK

Founding members. Founding members of Country Gentlemen in 1957 were: Charlie Waller - vocals, guitar. Bill Emerson - banjo, vocals. John Duffey - mandolin, vocals. Larry Lahey - bass. The most famous are two other lineups of the Country Gentlemen, usually called 1st Classic and 2nd Classic Lineup.
