I Burning Rain vennero fondati nel 1999 da Doug Aldrich, che aveva lavorato precedentemente per i Bad Moon Rising e dal cantante Keith St. John che invece aveva suonato con i Medicine Wheel a cui si aggiunsero l'ex batterista degli Steelheart Alex Macarovich ed il bassista Ian Mayo.. Burning Rain is a band formed by guitarist Doug Aldrich and singer Keith St. John in 1998. Joining the group were drummer Alex Makarovich and Ian Mayo on bass. The band released two albums in Japan and Europe, Burning Rain and Pleasure to Burn, respectively, before going on hiatus due to Aldrich's involvement with both Dio and Whitesnake. Keith St. John's joined Montrose during this time.
