Scott Turow's Presumed Innocent has always been one of my favorite books, and I still think that it's the best legal thriller I've ever read. I've also enjoyed the novels that Turow has written since Presumed Innocent, but I approached this sequel with reservations.I wasn't sure why Turow would resurrect these characters and attempt to write a sequel to a virtually perfect book.
Turow’s fiction is set primarily among the legal community in the fictional Kindle County. According to Turow, he planned to set his first novel, Presumed Innocent in Boston, where he attended law school. But by the time he finished the work, the setting had taken on characteristics of Chicago, Turow's hometown to which he had returned.
