This is a rare snatch of a Radio 2 Show presented by former Dance Band Singer Sam Costa. I found it on an audio cassette rescued from a box of screws and nails at a car boot sale. Sam had a stint on Luxembourg before becoming a popular regular on Radio 2 with a sharp and witty style of presentation. He also was a regular panelist on Juke Box Jury. Sadly none of those shows survive.

Costa was of Sephardic Jewish-Portuguese ancestry (Costa is a Portuguese surname). Sam Costa began as a pianist with Bert Firman"s band and later became a popular British dance band singer in the 1930s making many records with bands such as Lew Stone, Harry Leader, Maurice Winnick and Jay Wilbur.
