Fast-Facts. Founded in 1969, Oakton is a two-year community college offering associate's degree programs and noncredit courses in northern Cook County, Illinois. Since October 2020, Oakton has been recognized as an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving-Institution (AANAPISI) by the U.S. Department of Education.
Oakton College’s new Health Careers Education Center is located on Endeavor Health Evanston Hospital’s campus and marks Oakton’s first physical presence in Evanston, the largest community in the college’s district. Expected to open in 2025, the center will be in Evanston Hospital’s COS Building at 2500 Ridge Avenue.

Tuition Costs 2023-2024. Tuition* per semester hour (Effective beginning summer 2017.) Residents of District 535 ** $136.25. Online classes (includes hybrid) $136.25. District residents over age 60 $68.12. Employees of approved in-district companies $136.25. Illinois residents, out-of-district $367.00.
General Admission Procedures. Complete and submit the Oakton general online application form at www.oakton.edu. Submit the nonrefundable application fee of $25. Submit official transcripts. Individuals with an associate degree or higher who do not intend to graduate from Oakton need not submit transcripts.
