Having come into the world in 1941 in Winterthur (Switzerland), Michael Gempart received his acting training at the Bühnenstudio Zürich from 1957-1960. His first roles took him to the Schauspielhaus Zürich and Stadttheater Bern. From 1959-1963 he was a member of the ensemble at the Theater Basel, where he worked with directors such as Heinz Hilpert, Rudolph Spalinger and Erich Holliger.
