Toub werd geboren in Teheran en groeide op in Manchester, en op veertienjarige leeftijd verhuisde hij naar Zwitserland. Hier verbleef hij twee jaar en ging toen naar Nashua (New Hampshire) waar hij zijn laatste jaar van de high school voltooide.
