Leben. Harry Andrews, Absolvent des Wrekin College in Shropshire, begann seine Arbeit in den Dreißigerjahren als Shakespeare-Schauspieler in einem Liverpooler Theater. Durch seinen guten Freund John Gielgud gelangte er schließlich auch an den Broadway, um dort Theater zu spielen.. Nach seiner Rückkehr nach London stand Andrews sowohl im West End als auch am Old Vic Theatre auf der Bühne.
Harry Andrews, né le 10 novembre 1911 à Tonbridge, dans le Kent ( Royaume-Uni ), et mort le 6 mars 1989 à Salehurst, dans le Sussex de l’Est ( Royaume-Uni ), est un acteur britannique, connu pour ses interprétations aussi remarquées que complexes d’officiers de l’armée. Il débute d’ailleurs dans Les Bérets rouges en 1953.
Harry Fleetwood Andrews, CBE (10 November 1911 – 6 March 1989) was an English film actor known for his frequent portrayals of tough military officers. His performance as Sergeant Major Wilson in The Hill alongside Sean Connery earned Andrews the 1965 National Board of Review Award for Best Supporting Actor and a nomination for the 1966 BAFTA Award for Best British Actor.
