日本国外では基本的に本名である『Takeshi Kitano』であるが、『Beat Takeshi Kitano』という、本名と芸名を併せた名義を使うこともある。また、絵画では「ビートたけし・北野武」名義を使用する。 落語立川流Bコースの一員で、高座名は「立川錦之助」 。
Takeshi Kitano (北野武 Kitano Takeshi?, Tóquio, 18 de janeiro de 1947) é um renomado diretor japonês que começou a carreira como ator e comediante sob o apelido Beat Takeshi. Fora do Japão, mantém diversos programas humorísticos na TV. Seus trabalhos mais conhecidos são dos gêneros Gangster e Policial, como diretor e ator.
北野武（Kitano Takeshi、きたの たけし），1947年1月18日出生于日本东京都足立区，日本导演、演员、电视节目主持人。1973年，北野武与兼子二郎组成相声搭档Two Beats。1975年，作为漫才演员初登小荧幕。1980年，与明石家秋刀鱼一起为富士台制作一档低俗无厘头的爆笑节目《THE MANZAI》。
