21 de oct. de 2023 · The Boeing 707 is often cited as the aircraft type that made commercial jet aviation so popular around the world. Its long range allowed airlines to operate the type on long routes, such as transatlantic and transpacific services. Production of the Boeing 707 began in 1956 and ended in 1978, and multiple variants were produced during this time to suit the needs of different airlines and markets.

The 707-120 and 320 were later reengined with JT3D turbofans (in place of the original JT3 and JT4 turbojets) to become the 707-120B, and the 707-320B respectively. The 707-320C was a convertible model, the 707-420 was powered by RollsRoyce Conways, while the proposed CFM-56 powered 707-700 upgrade was flight tested in the late 1970s but never entered production.
