THE FLATLANDERS were founded in 1972 by three musical childhood friends that grew up together in Lubbock, Texas. They are one of the last iconic American bands, intact, of their era. Often referred to as a Super Group, they have performed together so rarely, that a compilation recording released in 1990 was titled More a Legend Than a Band.
