18 de dic. de 2006 · The first thing that I noticed about "Acquiring the Taste" is the heavy use of synthesizers (including moog and mellotron), which is much more abundant than that on "Octopus" for example. In fact, the first track on the CD ("Pantagruel's Nativity") opens with a very soft, multi-part moog synthesizer line, with really nice mellotron parts laced throughout the rest of the piece.

My copy's got backround noise from start to finish, but only when the music plays and not in the quiet parts. This record (and many others nowadays) comes with a kind of "dull" surface which is shown when you try to clean it with a carbon brush.
