The first official Groovegrass release, a remix EP of the Osbourne Brothers' "Rocky Top," went on to sell over 100,000 copies, and soon after Rouse recruited bluegrass legends including Watson, Mac Wiseman, and Del McCoury -- as well as funk icon Bootsy Collins -- to play as the Groovegrass Boyz, issuing a self-titled 1997 effort containing their rendition of the smash "Macarena."

12 de ago. de 2011 · The GrooveGrass Boyz was an American musical group that played a mix of bluegrass, funk, and freestyle music. The group was founded as a side project by record producer and session musician Scott Rouse in 1987, after he began experimenting with dance mixes of bluegrass and country songs, eventually applying the term groovegrass to his mix of music.
Track 6 ("GrooveGrass Girlz") is a themed cover of Buffalo Gals/Buffalo Girls. Track 9 ("Macarena") is a themed cover of Los Del Rio 's song by the same name.
