What is called thinking? Martin Heidegger, perhaps the most influential existentialist philosopher of our time, seeks out the essential nature of the process of thinking. The theme of this book is that we learn to think only as we inquire into those matters that normally remain unquestioned concerning our everyday existence and our traditions.
During the winter and summer semesters of 1951 and 1952 at the University of Freiburg, Heidegger delivered lectures on "What is Called Thinking", which later got published in 1954. In the book, Heidegger is talking about thinking, the importance and relevance of it and how it got degenerated because of scientific development.
