An immensely quotable, smart dumb parody of caper/PI movies, that takes the genre to illogical and hilarious extremes. One of the best examples of sketch-comedy sensibility turned into a feature film.
Mystery Team provides examples of the following tropes: Abusive Parents: Hinted at with Charlie's dad a couple of times. Achievements in Ignorance: Even though the trio know nothing of investigative protocol and aren't good at the things they think they are, they do manage to track down Leroy.
