St. Joseph's Prep is a member of the Philadelphia Catholic League and District XII of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA). The Philosophy of mens sana in corpore sano, "a healthy mind in a healthy body," has long been a part of Prep education. Prep students strive for excellence in athletics as well as academics.
