It's so good to hear this incarnation of the Miles Davis quintet, with Hancock, Carter, Tony Williams, and Shorter! Shorter's sax playing is a perfect complement to Miles' trumpet playing here, and together the quintet is taking hard bop to its furthest heights, just before fusion would take hold. Amazing to think this was all in 1965.
