Descripción. Martin Cooper nació en Chicago en 1928 en el seno de una familia de emigrantes ucranianos. En 1950 obtuvo su grado como ingeniero eléctrico y un Master en 1957, ambos en el Instituto Tecnológico de Illinois. En 1954 entró a trabajar en Motorola Inc. desarrollando el proyecto DynaTAC 8000X de teléfono móvil.
