The Notre Dame College Prep Grotto is modeled after the grotto at Lourdes, France. It is 80 feet by 20 feet which is larger than the grotto at the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Approximately 130 tons of Dolminite stone was used to complete the Grotto, and the altar stone itself weighs 17,600 pounds.
