Judas Priest war ursprünglich eine im Jahr 1969 gegründete Blues-Band, die aus dem Sänger Alan Atkins, dem Bassisten Bruno Stapenhill, dem Schlagzeuger John Partige und dem Gitarristen John Perry bestand.Perry starb noch im gleichen Jahr durch Suizid und wurde durch Ernie Chataway ersetzt, der 2014 an Krebs verstarb.
