Coast to Coast , which is about a black Liverpudlian and a white American who run a mobile disco specializing in soul music, is in thrall to Motown rather than Marx.
British Road Movies, my debut solo album was released in 2016. Co-written with my guitar hero Bernard Butler over a number of years, the songs are cinematic snapshots of the Suffolk landscape, romance on the motorways, female friendship, the dichotomy of possibility and reality. They are preserved moments in time.

Road trip movies are basically a genre all their own in America – we are known for our car culture and love of the open highway. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t made use of this plot device in British films as well.

15 de may. de 2016 · It’s an album that sums up the mantra ‘good things come to those who wait’. There’s not a bad track on British Road Movies, and those who have been pining for years to hear Jackson’s voice again will be more than satisfied. It may not be the return of the Long Blondes, but this could evolve into something even better.
