  3. Cheyenne Autumn is usually referred to as John Ford's elegy for Native Americans, or an apologia for his own role in mistreating Native Americans on screen. It is this, certainly, but it is also other things. It isn't as sympathetic as you expect going in, not having seen it before, but perhaps fairer.
