However, a small statistic at the time gave an indication that the RAF would ultimately succeed. Only 13 RAF planes were lost, a trend that hardly changed throughout the whole conflict.

Hace 4 días · His aircraft crashed at Happy Valley, Old Coulsdon. On 29th October Pickering claimed a Me109 destroyed. He was posted to 601 Squadron at Northolt on 20th December. He left on 14th February 1941 for 57 OTU Hawarden to be a test pilot at the MU there. Commissioned in December 1941, Pickering became an instructor at 57 OTU on the 20th of the month.

Hace 4 días · R C F Lister. Robert Charles Franklin Lister was born on 23rd August 1913 and attended Cheltenham College from 1927 to 1932. He entered the RAF College Cranwell in September 1932 as a Flight Cadet. He won the Groves Memorial Prize in 1934 and, after graduating, he joined 13 (Army Co-operation) Squadron at Netheravon on 28th July 1934.
