Bird-of-paradise. The birds-of-paradise are members of the family Paradisaeidae of the order Passeriformes. The majority of species are found in eastern Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and eastern Australia. The family has 45 species in 17 genera.

Birds of Paradise Facts Overview. The vast majority of species within Paradisaeidae are endemic to Papua New Guinea, but species can also be found in eastern Indonesia and Australia, in various rainforest habitats. Most birds-of-paradise species inhabit tropical forests, as well as swaps moss forests, and coastal mangroves.
