21 de feb. de 2003 · The songs that Pete Townshend wrote in the wake of Keith Moon’s death didn’t appear on any album by The Who; rather, they were released on Pete’s first “serious” solo album, Empty Glass. Fans and radio stations were hungry for some musical statement from the spokesman of his generation in the post-Moon landscape, and what they got sounded very much like The Who.
22 de abr. de 2021 · I read somewhere once that Daltry was a little upset that Townsend didn't give "Rough Boys" to The Who. If that's a true story, I can see (and hear) why. To me, that's Pete over the top. IIRC, the rest of The Who were irked, they felt Pete kept his best stuff from 1978-1979 for "Empty Glass". I tended to agree.
