The Liverpool Echo has reported yesterday (Mar. 24) that John Lennon’s childhood friend Pete Shotton has died at 75 due to heart attack.. Shotton had befriended Lennon from an early age and remained a lifelong friend throughout his time in The Beatles. He even wrote an autobiography in 1983, titled John Lennon: In My Life, co-authored with Nicholas Shaffner.

Pete Shotton was there from John's early schoolboy years and the friendship stayed strong until Yoko came along therefore his story should be enlightening and hopefully accurate. The book proves to be an enjoyable read. The format folows the known John Lennon/Beatles' story with Shotton's own memories woven in.
9 de mar. de 2023 · Although neither he nor Epstein spoke on record about the event, Lennon did apparently reveal to his former schoolfriend Pete Shotton what happened. Shotton quoted the exchange at length, and with characteristic frankness, in his 1983 memoir.
