In her career she has won three Grammy Awards (one of which was for her debut album Steady On) and released 12 albums.By phone she discussed the 30 th anniversary acoustic version of Steady On, her inspiration to write, and the artists that influenced her in her early days of performing.
Shawn Colvin’s unique but deeply rooted vocal style and penetrating lyrics helped make her one of the most distinctive artists to emerge from the ’80s folk scene. Born in South Dakota in 1956, Colvin came up on folk music and began performing professionally while attending college in Illinois.
