The best self-catered options are Hiatt Baker and Badock. Both halls (mostly) have modern rooms and kitchens with a mixture of en-suite, basin and standard. Clifton halls have the best location usually being no further than 10/15 mins walk from the uni buildings. I was in Manor Hall which had massive rooms and was very social.
