Seals and Crofts were an American soft rock duo made up of James Eugene "Jim" Seals (October 17, 1941 – June 6, 2022) and Darrell George "Dash" Crofts (born August 14, 1940) They are best known for their hits "Summer Breeze" (1972), "Diamond Girl" (1973), and "Get Closer" (1976).
Geschichte. Jim Seals und Dash Crofts machten schon Mitte der 1950er in Texas Musik in verschiedenen Formationen, bevor sie 1958 zu der Band The Champs gelangten, die gerade mit Tequila einen großen Hit hatte. 1966 lösten sich die Champs auf. Crofts ging zurück nach Texas, Seals gründete die Band The Dawnbreakers, die jedoch erfolglos blieb.
