Née en 1901 et morte en 1990, Rosamond Lehmann est une grande figure de la littérature anglaise. Proche du Bloomsbury group, elle s’est rendue célèbre en 1927 lors de la parution de Poussières, son premier roman, une évocation assez osée de la mélancolie adolescente.L’invitation à la valse (1932) et Intempéries (1936) connaîtrons le même succès en Angleterre mais aussi en France.
Rosamond Lehmann (Bourne End, Buckinghamshire, 1901 – Londres, 1990) perteneció a una familia de escritores, editores y artistas: su padre, Rudolph Chambers Lehmann, fue uno de los fundadores de la revista Granta y editor del Daily News; su hermano, John Lehmann, fue escritor y tuvo su propia editorial; su hermana fue la actriz Beatrix Lehmann.
