Hace más de 100 años, Baden Powell fundó el Movimiento Scout en el mundo. Nació en Inglaterra el 22 de febrero de 1857 y fue bautizado con el nombre de Robert Stephenson Smyth Baden Powell. A temprana edad quedó huérfano de padre junto a sus seis hermanos con su madre Henrietta Grace, por lo que asumió responsabilidades desde muy pequeño.
Lord Baden-Powell (1857-1941) was a British general and founder of the modern Scouting movement. Baden-Powell became a national hero during the Boer war of 1899-1900 when, with a small garrison, he commanded the defence of Mafeking. During the Boer War, Baden-Powell wrote “A Guide to Scouting”. This was published in 1908 and was a best-seller.

Hingga pada tahun 1908 terbitlah buku ‘Scouting for Boys’ yang kemudian menjadi acuan kepramukaan di seluruh dunia.
