  6. This portrait of Benjamin Franklin's daughter was painted in March, 1865, for the grandson of the sitter after the life portrait of her by John Hoppner, R.A. (1758-1810), painted in 1793. According to family tradition, this copy by Sully has always been paired with the portrait of her husband Richard Bache (1737-1811) by John Russell (British, 1745-1806), also in the collection.
